Simple polymer clay flower tutorial

The next tutorial is suitable for beginners, that’s actually why I named it: simple polymer clay flower tutorial. I recommend it for the beginners in shaping with polymer clay because you don’t need any cutters, a scissor it’s just fine and I bet anyone has it!

As you have already noticed, I’m in the stage of flowers.

The article is made for cake decoration but the technique works as well with polymer clay.

For this simple polymer clay flower tutorial you will need:

polymer clay
wires
toothpick
pointy tool like a pen
scissors
optional: green and pink color or shimmer dust
stamens (you can make your self the stamens from wire)

Take the polymer clay in the color you decided and make a cone out of it. With the pointy tool or with a pen make a hole in the middle of it.Use the second picture as example.

You must lengthens edge.

For the next step take the scissor and cut 5 equal petals. Then give them a rounded shape like in the picture number five.

For the next step use a toothpick to give the petals a realistic shape.

If you don’t have dust, you can skip this step. Otherwise take a brush and spread some shiny dust on the flower

If you will use the flower for decorating something you can stop here. If you want to make a bouquet or use it in any other project that will need it to be baked my advice is to use wire to prevent it from burning. You should add stamens after baking to avoid melting.
