Clay Frog Tutorial | Easy DIY for Beginners

I prepared for you a polymer clay frog diy tutorial. It will be a funny project and a way to exercise your molding skills. Check out how easy is to make this little frog . Enjoy!

Learn how to make your own figurines. This is an easy steps by step tutorial with lots of instructions.

Materials You’ll Need

• 4 colors of polymer clay (withe and black for the eyes, green for the body and red for the tongue)
• clay shaper
• cutter
• optional is the liquid clay (in case your clay is old and hard you’ll need the liquid clay to make sure the pieces are glued together )

Step 1: Prepare the Clay

As the first step for this polymer clay frog diy tutorial is to create out of green clay a oval which will be the body of the frog

Step 2: Shape the frog body

Take a smaller amount of green and make the legs as shown in the picture below. The legs will look like drops. Add them to the body. In case your clay is old and hard you’ll need the liquid clay to make sure the pieces are glued together

Step 3: Add details and texture

At this stage we will create the fingers as 3 smaller drops for each leg. Also will add them to the body as shown below.

Step 4: Assemble all body parts

At this stage we will add the eyes. Make 2 larger bolls of white and 2 smaller of black. press the small ones and add them to the center. Make another ball having the same green color of the body and the same size as the eyes (white balls). Press it with your fingers till you have a circle and cut in half. This 2 semicircle will be the eyelids. Combine this pieces as shown in the bellow image and then add them to the body

Step 5: Final result

For the last step of this polymer clay frog diy tutorial all that’s left is the big smile and the tongue. We’ll take the shaper tool and and we’ll carve a smile Then we’ll make a red drop and press it a little bit to be thinner.  We’ll then press with the unsharpened part of the cutter on the narrower side of the drop. Last thing you have to do is to add it to the mouth.

Last week I shared with you a very simple polymer clay earrings diy tutorial. It was meant to help the new joiners in the clay world. Today we’ll add a new flavor to it for those of you that feel you need to move to next level. With this polymer clay flower earrings diy e’ll create the same flower shape earrings, but this time with a stripe pattern on the petals.

Learn how to make your own earrings. This is an easy steps by step tutorial with lots of instructions. Express your creativity in a fun way and enjoy the result. Play with colors and don’t be afraid to try new combinations.

For this polymer clay flower earrings diy tutorial you will need:

• 2 or more small sheet of polymer clay (I used dark blue, light blue and white)
• roller or pasta machine
• cutter
• glue
• hangers or pins ( I used pins)

If you prepared the tools then it’s time for the actual work!

Step 1:

As the first step in creating your polymer clay earrings you have to create a sheet from each color of clay. Add them one on top of the other and then create a cylinder out of them. As a result the middle will contain o bit more color then the stripes, but don’t worry this will be eliminated while shaping the petals.

Next you will have to cut 10 slices out of the cylinder created at the previous step. Take your time wile cutting the slice in order to be equals. Each slice will be a petal. This way all the petals of the flower will have same dimension.

Step 2:

You have to press with your fingers the slices to smooth the edges.

Step 3:

As a next step you take the circles and for each of them unite half letting outside the other half. Take as reference the following photo. It should result the petal.

Step 4:

Now all that’s left for you is to unite them. Bake the flowers and add the pins or the hangers . As a result your earrings are complete now 🙂

Clay earrings diy

Several years ago, I discovered the beauty of polymer clay crafts. I started with some cute flowers that become earrings.  Making your own jewelry is fun. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures with them to show you, but I make up for it by teaching you how to make them. This clay earrings diy tutorial will help you have a smooth start and beautiful creations. It is very simple and there’s no need for advance tools.

For this clay earrings diy tutorial you will need:

• a small sheet of polymer clay (I used light blue)
• cutter
• glue
• hangers or pins ( I used pins)

If you prepared the tools then let’s get to the actual work! If you are familiar with clay some of the steps may seem not necessary. I added them for those of who are not familiar with clay as a measure of creating similar shaped items.

If you like this earrings and want to add a bit more flavor to it this tutorial should be next on your to do list.

Step 1:

For creating your clay earrings you have to mold the clay into a cylinder and cut 10 slices out of it. Take your time wile cutting the slice in order to be equals. Each slice will be a petal. This way all the petals of the flower will have same dimension.

Step 2:

You have to create balls and then squeeze them into your fingers to obtain a circle. This way it is easier to have equal petals. Of course you can make a sheet and then cut the circle with a mold. It’s all on how confident you are on working with clay. Personally I don’t fill that the presented method is better since you don’t invest extra time in smoothing the edges.

Step 3:

As a next step you take the circles and for each of them unite half letting outside the other half. Take as reference the following photo. It should result the petal.

Step 4:

Now all that’s left for you is to unite them and to cut the extra clay.

Step 5:

Make another small ball to put in the middle and cut the leftovers from the petals.  Bake them and add the pins. As a result your earrings are complete 🙂
